John Louis Roubinek

January 6, 1939 — March 27, 2025

John "Jack" Roubinek, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Estates at Rush City at the age of 86.

John Louis Roubinek was born January 6, 1939, the cherished son of Louis and Mary (Smetana) Roubinek in Pine City, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Pine City High School in 1956.

After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. While there, he not only drove a gas truck for refueling but also honed his skills in horseshoe pitching, a pastime he continued to enjoy throughout his life.

An outdoorsman through and through, Jack loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. He shared his passion with his daughters, instilling in them an appreciation for nature and the thrill of ice fishing, deer hunting, and horseshoe pitching. He was also an avid bowler and a master storyteller, known for tales that brought a hearty laugh - often followed by a bellyful of infectious laughter.

His family was the light of his life, and he took pride in watching them carry forward his love of the outdoors and competitive spirit. His legacy of joy, hard work, and dedication to family and friends will continue to inspire those who knew him. John "Jack" Roubinek will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Left to honor his memory are his two daughters Janet Roubinek, Joyce Teich; grandchildern Trevor (Larissa) Teich, Trisha (Tyler) Spinler, Cora (Stefan) Platikanov, Elsie Lundquist (Jacob Hetrick); great grandson Raiden; sister-in-law Janice Roubinek; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis & Mary Roubinek; loving wife Margaret Roubinek; brother Dennis Roubinek; son-in-law Don Teich; many cherished brothers and sisters-in-law, aunts, and uncles.
