Jon Ryan Slama

Jonathan Ryan Slama made the Lambeau Leap into heaven after losing his battle with colorectal cancer on February 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Pine City at the age of 41.

Jon was born on March 21, 1983 to Leonard and Theresa (Moncrief) Slama in Mora, Minnesota. He grew up in Pine City. He had many friends throughout his life; most of them becoming like family. Jon loved his friends especially when he pulled pranks and shenanigans with them. There is one that’s become pretty well known. Jon was known as an avid Green Bay Packer football fan. He even got the chance to go to their home games in Green Bay, Wisconsin. If you ever saw him, he was always wearing a Packer hat. Jon loved to hunt, fish, and generally be outdoors.

In 2021 Jon and Claudia welcomed a son, Olee Ryan. He loved that little boy dearly. He also became a stepfather to Bentlee and Karlee when he married Claudia in July of 2023. Jon loved Bentlee and Karlee as if they were his own children.

Jon is survived by his wife Claudia Slama and son Olee; stepchildren Bentlee Hanson, Karlee Hanson; parents Leonard and Theresa Slama; grandfather Richard Moncrief, Sr.; siblings Jennifer Slama, Traci (Jesse) Ellefson, Samantha Soderbeck; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; nieces, nephews, and friends. He always lived his life to the fullest and will always be loved and missed.

Jonathan is preceded in death by his brother Jeremy Slama; grandparents Robert and Ruth Slama; grandmother Patricia Moncrief; and of course, his dog, Big Mac.

Pastor Tim Adams will officiate funeral services for Jon: 11:00 AM; Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Journey North Church in Pine City.  A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
