Juanita "Nita" Mae Steffen

Juanita "Nita" Steffen of Rush City passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at her home at the age of 87.

Nita was born in Manson, Washington to Arthur and Chloris Blair on February 21, 1936.  

She was a 25-year employee of the State of Minnesota.  She enjoyed traveling out west, spending time with her family, and trips to the casino to play the slot machines.

Nita is survived by her children Mike (Cathy) Steffen of Bonita Springs, Florida, Connie (Mike) Junget of Sunrise, Denise (Steve) Whitmer of Deer Park, Wisconsin, Bob (Michelle) Steffen of South St. Paul, Linda (Tim) Eiffes of Harris; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Chloris Blair; husband Lloyd Steffen; grandson Eric Steffen; granddaughter Tanya Schmidt.

Funeral services for Nita: 3 PM; Saturday, April 22, 2023 with a gathering of family and friends planned for one hour prior to the service all at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.  A lunch gathering at Chucker's Bowl (1270 W 3rd St, Rush City, MN 55069) is planned immediately following the funeral service. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Rushseba Station and to St Croix Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Croix Hospice.
