Karen Flood of Eagan and also of Pine City passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from multiple health issues at Signe & Olivia’s Assisted Living in Pine City at the age of 80.
Karen graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School and Metro State University. She was very active in many outside activities including; League of Women Voters, Campfire Girls, Eagan FD Ladies Auxiliary, Cub Scout den mother, 4-H, and served as secretary for the Cross Lake Association.
Karen also fostered children in her home, lovingly caring for Ritchie Clubb and others over the years. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagan where she taught Sunday school, belonged to the Bible study group and helped craft hundreds of items for the church bazaars and spring and fall sales.
Karen will be dearly missed and is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John; sons Robert (Victoria and her daughter Kaili), Ronald (Shanie and her daughter Megan); daughter Stacy (Doug); grandsons Zachery and Jake; sister Patricia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mildred Hunt; brother James; brother-in-law Gordon.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held from 11 AM - 1:30 PM Wednesday (2/9) at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Maplewood.
Following the service a luncheon will be served for family and friends at the Heath-Perkins American Legion Post #51 in Pine City.
Memorials are preferred and may be given in Karen’s memory directed to the donor’s favorite charity.
