Katherine "Kathy" Ruth Haug

Kathy Haug of Pine City passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Parmly on the Lake in Chisago City at the age of 77.

Katherine Ruth Stuart was born on May 13, 1946 to Floyd Stuart and Pearl (Peterson) Stuart in Littlefork, Minnesota.

At the age of three months, she went to live with Pearl’s uncle and aunt, Enock and Thora Olson. She lived with her great aunt and uncle until she graduated in 1964.  In 1965, she graduated from the vocational school in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.   In November of 1965, she moved to Minneapolis to work.

June 19, 1976 Kathy married Gary Haug and they made their home in Pine City.   On July 8, 1981 a son, Paul, was born to them.

Kathy enjoyed square dancing, going to plays, embroidery and reading.

Kathy is survived by her son Paul (Donna) Haug of Pine City; grandson Chase Anderson of Pine City; half-sisters Pat (Tom) Nelson of Asheboro, North Carolina and Barbara Evans of Greensboro, North Carolina; brothers-in-law Mark (Linda) Haug, Myron (Joan) Haug; sister-in-law Patti (Dave) Robinson; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd Stuart and Pearl (Engwald) Peterson Enli; husband Gary Haug; great-uncle and great-aunt Enock and Thora Olson; half-brother Craig Stuart; half-sisters Gloria, Beverly, Mary and Brenda; father-in-law and mother-in-law Harry and Helen Haug.

Funeral arrangements for Kathy: 11 AM; Tuesday, January 23rd at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned from 5-8 PM on Monday, January 22nd at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City and also one hour prior to the service at the church. The interment will take place at Milburn Cemetery, Pine City.
