Kevin McLearen of Pine City passed away at his home Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the age of 66.
Kevin Jay McLearen was born January 26, 1952 to Glenn and Maxine (Dowd) McLearen in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Kevin was a tile setter by trade and an all-around handy man. Kevin learned the tile setting trade from his father. They worked together as soon as Kevin could carry a 5-gallon pail. Kevin was much honored to have his son Todd choose to work in the tile trade.
Kevin was an avid fisherman; fishing both summer and winter on Pokegama Lake. Most importantly he was a great father, friend, brother and neighbor and was always there when anyone needed help.
Kevin is survived by his wife Jan McLearen of Pine City; sons Lee Richard (Tracy) McLearen of Jacksonville, Florida and Todd (Zakkiyya) McLearen of Big Lake; daughter Melissa McLearen of Hurst, Texas; 5 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 2 great-grandsons; siblings Kathy (Steve) Schum of Plymouth, Roger McLearen (Carole Gordon) of Coconut Creek, Florida, Colleen (Doug) Murray of Crosslake, Maureen (Becky Pluger) McLearen of Wayzata, Doreen (Jeff) Shrode of Delano; sister-in-law Bonnie McLearen of Rockford; mother/father-in-law Bill and Shirley Woishke of Pine City; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Maxine McLearen, brothers Larry McLearen and Glenn McLearen, nephew Kent Murray.
Pastor Rob Spahr will officiate funeral services for Kevin: 11 AM; Tuesday (2/6/18) at the First Presbyterian Church, Pine City. A time for family and friends to gather is planned Monday (2/5/18) from 4-7:00 PM at the Swanson Chapel in Pine City and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
