Marcella Mae Staples

Marcella Staples passed away Friday, April 24, 2020 at Sophie's Manor in Pine City at the age of 94.

Marcella Mae DeRusha was born February 27, 1926 to Earl and Martha (Chapeline) DeRusha in Cloquet, Minnesota.

Marcella is survived by her grandchildren Patrick (Michele) Staples of Adams, Amy (Jason) Hall of Farmington; great-grandchildren Kjerstin, Korin and Erik Hall, William and Hunter Staples; daughter-in-law Barbara Staples of Adams; significant other Thomas Brandl of Pine City; many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

She wass preceded in death by her parents Earl & Martha DeRusha; husband Arnold Staples; son Gregory Staples; sisters Earline DeRusha, Joan Markovich, Mary Lou Foster; brothers Robert DeRusha, James DeRusha.

Monsignor Aleksander Suchan will celebrate a private Mass of Christian Burial for Marcella: 10:30 AM; Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. A private family viewing will be held at Swanson Funeral Chapel one hour prior to the Mass at the church. The interment will take place in Birchwood Cemetery, Pine City.
