It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Margaret Louise Lindgren of Fridley, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at her home at the age of 87.
Marge was born on July 4, 1936 in Robbinsdale, Minnesota to Wilby and Zula (Lake) Arnold, and was a loving spouse, parent, grandparent, sibling, and friend.
Marge grew up in Minneapolis. She graduated from Minneapolis Vocational school in 1954 and shortly after married Eugene Lindgren Sr. The couple lived in Key West, Florida while Gene was enlisted in the Navy. After returning to Minnesota, they started their family in Coon Rapids and in 1970 moved to Rush City with their four children before settling in Fridley in 1997. Marge worked at Univac before beginning her career with Medtronic, where she built heart valves until her retirement. After retirement, she and Gene spent their winters in Florida, enjoying the warm weather and sunshine.
Marge was a kind-hearted person with a great sense of humor. She had a variety of hobbies and interests. She and Gene loved traveling and enjoyed taking road trips in their motorhome as well as flying to California to visit relatives. She loved exploring flea markets and antique shops, always on the hunt for unique and interesting collectibles. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and treasured moments shared with them. In her younger years, she enjoyed snowmobiling, going out dancing, and socializing with friends. In her free time, she could often be found playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, working on embroidery projects, or reading a book. Marge had a special place in her heart for her pets; Fifi, Cuddles, Snuggles, and Wiggles. She also enjoyed going out for lunch with loved ones, always finding joy in the simple pleasures in life.
Marge is survived by her children Eugene Jr (Jeri) Lindgren of Crosslake, Michael (Lisa) Lindgren of St. Francis, Sandra Lindgren of Minneapolis; grandchildren Allison (Christian Krtnick) Johnson, Sara (Travis) Haugrud, Josh (Beth) Shugren, Dustin (Erin) Shugren, Ashley Lindgren, Noah Lindgren, Mitch Lindgren, Dustin Lindgren, Cha'Rell (Mando) Varela; great-grandchildren Bella, Kylie, Myles, Haylie, Parker, Camden, Francis, Jasen, Kaylee, Mason; brothers Paul (Roseanne) Arnold, Larry (Marilyn) Arnold; honorary Paulette (Bruce) Waldhoff of Oak Grove; and a host of other relatives and friends.
