Matthew Duane Cochran was born August 9, 1963 to Gibson and Darlene (Meyer) Cochran in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was the fourth child of five. The family moved to Hugo in 1971 and he loved country life. When he was a teenager they moved again to White Bear Lake. He later moved to Stanchfield.
Matthew and Jeanna were married in 2005; they continued to live in Stanchfield and raise their children Jace, Lyla and Mason. He loved country living from the time he was a young boy living on family farms. Matthew loved to fish and was the happiest when he had a line in the water. He taught his kids and other family member’s children his tricks to catch the big ones. His family lovingly called him “the fish whisperer”.
