Myles Stanton Stockdill

Myles Stockdill passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at Ecumen North Branch Senior Living in North Branch at the age of 99 years, 7 months and 8 days.

Myles Stanton Stockdill was born on June 5, 1925, to George H. and Alma (Johnson) Stockdill in his family home in Swift County, Minnesota near De Graff. He graduated from Maynard High School in Maynard, Minnesota. Over the years he was employed as an automotive mechanic and a machinist. Myles married Georgia Meyer Behrens welcoming her children Jeanne, Judy, Bunny, Mike into his home. After Georgia passed away Myles married Viola Lauer Davis and added 3 additional sons Doug, Louis, and Al into his family.

Myles was a master gardener, growing beautiful vegetables and flowers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; he especially loved the winter season of ice fishing. 

Myles is survived by his son Kevin (Kathy) Stockdill; granddaughter Mellisa (Chris) Longmire; great-granddaughter Charlotte; stepchildren Jeanne Gauvin, Judy Anderson, Bunny (Bob) Meredith, Mike Behrens; many step grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Alma Stockdill; wives Georgia Meyer and Viola Davis; a grandson Brian Stockdill; stepdaughter June Behrens; step grandson Scott Gauvin; sisters Frances Shepperd, Gloria Olson, infant sisters Viola and Shirley; brothers Kenneth Stockdill, Charles Stockdill, George L. Stockdill, Steven Stockdill.

Reverend Rebecca Thomas will officiate at a celebration of Myles’ life in the summer.
