Nancy Jo Bergquist

Nancy Jo Bergquist of Pine City passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024, at Rushseba Station in Rush City at the age of 81.

Nancy Jo Schmidt was born on September 19, 1943 to Joseph and Mildred (Alger) Schmidt in Thorp, Wisconsin. 

Nancy married Bruce H. Bergquist on September 22, 1965.

She began her career doing data entry, and by the time she retired from St. Jude Medical Center she was a supervisor.

Outside of work she loved gardening, puzzles and crocheting, Bingo and gambling.

Her love for her family was overwhelming and she will be dearly missed.

Nancy is survived by her children Joseph (Dawn) Bergquist and Jill (Dusty) Splittstoser; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister Janet Schmidt; and an abundance of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mildred Schmidt; husband Bruce H. Bergquist; brother Ronald Schmidt; and granddaughter Ashten Austin.

Monsignor Aleksander Suchan will celebrate a Memorial Mass for Nancy: 10:30 AM; Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Pine City with a time for gathering of family and friends planned for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
