Orville Loy Heinrich

Orville Heinrich of Rush City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Burnett Continuing Care Center in Grantsburg, Wisconsin at the age of 94 with his wife Fran at his side.

Orville Loy Heinrich was born April 14, 1929 to Fred and Ida (Scharp) Heinrich on the family farm near the St. Croix River. He was the oldest of 3 children.

Orville attended Rush City School and graduated in May of 1947. He went on to work at Sears Roebuck & Co. in Minneapolis the day after graduation. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and was a MP. After he served his time in the Army, he went back to work at Sears for 41+ years. After retiring from Sears he worked part-time for Hertz Rental for a few years and finally retired.

On May 21, 1966, Orville married Frances Jacobson. They enjoyed 56 happy years together.

Orville was a worker. He always enjoyed helping his dad on the family farm during his free time cutting wood, doing field work, bailing hay and milking cows.

Orville was also a member of the Richfield American Legion Post #435 of Minneapolis for 60 years.

Orville lived a good life and will be dearly missed.

Orville is survived by his wife Fran Heinrich of Rush City; brothers Don (Nancy) Heinrich of New Brighton, Doug Heinrich of St. Louis; many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ida Heinrich.

Funeral services for Orville: 11 AM; Tuesday, May 23, 2023 with a time of visitation and reviewal one hour prior to the service all at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. The interment will take place in First Lutheran Cemetery, Rush City.

Memorials may be directed to the Rush City American Legion Post #93 or donors choice.

A special thank you to the lovely staff at Burnett Continuing Care Center and Dr. Tim Novick for the excellent care Orville recieved for the past 2 1/2 years and to the St. Croix Hospice staff for the past 2 months.
