Patrick Charles Stich

October 28, 1958 — October 14, 2020

Patrick Stich of Lindstrom, formerly of Rush City, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul at the age of 61.

Patrick Charles Stich was born October 28, 1958 to Cletus "Bud" and Gloria (Martha) Stich in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He was the seventh of 11 children.

When Pat was 3 years old, the family moved to a farm near Rush Lake where he attended Rush City Schools and a special needs school in Pine City, eventually graduating. Pat enjoyed working and helping others, it seemed he never tired. You could find him mowing the yards at Martins Resort or doing chores on the farm. Pat loved fishing, eating, and hanging out with the Fehrmans. He enjoyed singing, playing (trying) guitar, playing pool, and meeting people.

Pat moved to a group home in Lindstrom when he was in his 20’s, and would spend nearly 35 years there. His roommates were like family. He was employed in the maintenance department at Chisago Distributing for 18 years and Coca-Cola for nearly 10 more. He loved his jobs and was so proud of them. Pat wasn’t shy, where ever he went he made friends whether he was working, at the Dollar Store or visiting with road construction workers, soon you were on a first name basis with him. Pat was very creative and enjoyed making dream catchers and whatchamacallits, if you knew Pat you were sure to have one of his creations, like it or not. He liked writing letters and calling family and friends on the phone. He had a very unique way of writing and talking in the third person. Pat always asked and cared about his siblings, nieces, nephews and friends. He had a great memory and good sense of humor.

Last July, Pat noted 35 years of sobriety and he looked forward to his Thursday AA meetings with his friends. He was also looking forward to a family trip to Indiana and Florida, only to decide to make his last trip, a trip to heaven instead.

Pat is survived by his siblings Bill (Linda) Stich of Oregon, Mike (Mary) Stich of Key West, Florida, Marilyn (Dan) Thielmann of Indiana, Cathy (Dave) Atnip of Oklahoma, John (Lisa) Stich of Burnsville, Mary (Rob) Eaton of Willow River; brother-in-law Charlie Hebert of Rush City; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cletus "Bud" and Gloria Stich; siblings Jim Tiseth, Bob Stich, Jim Stich, Susan Hebert, Tom Stich.
