Peggy Wasson of Pine City died at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. She was 64 years old.
Peggy Lee Hill was born April 16, 1956 to Calvin and Mary (Peterson) Hill in Heron Lake, Minnesota. In 1962, the family moved to Pine City. In 1974, Peggy graduated from Pine City High School. On May 26, 1978, she was united in marriage to Rick Wasson and they were blessed with two children: Callie and Ricky.
There were many interests in Peggy's life that she loved that gave her pride and joy, but her grandchildren were at the top of her list. She spent her spare time watching her grandchildren's sporting events and sewing. So many children were born surrounded by one of her handmade quilts. Some of her family’s best memories of her smile happened at Hap’s Campground. She loved camping with all her friends. She left us with so many memories of 4-wheeling and bonfires. Cooking was one of her specialties and anyone in Pine County that had the pleasure to try one of her salads will agree. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Peggy is survived by her husband Rick Wasson of Pine City; daughter Callie (Jason Hulbert) Wasson of Mora; son, Ricky Jr (Ashley) Wasson of Pine City; grandchildren Kody, Kaley and Jasie Hulbert, Tucker, Breckin and Boden Wasson; mother Mary Hill of Pine City; brother David (Dorothy) Hill of Pine City; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Calvin Hill; brothers Duane Hill, Danny (Pamela Jo) Hill; grandson Deven Mettling.

A time for family and friends to gather is planned from 5-8 PM Friday (6/5) also at the funeral chapel. The inurnment will take place in Birchwood Cemetery in Pine City.
