Ray Bever passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at his home in Pine City at the age of 83.Raymond Leo Bever was born January 9, 1941 to George and Lucille (Strait) Bever in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ray grew up in St. Paul with his sisters and brothers. In the early 70's Ray moved to Pine City with his wife Deanna. Ray was a semi-truck driver for many years working both over the road and locally. For extra money and social interaction he would tend bar at various establishments. Eventually Ray left trucking and managed the Pine City Country Club for a time, after that he moved on to selling cars until his retirement. Ray believed in community and has worked with the Lions, Pheasants Forever and as the treasurer for the Sons of the American Legion, Heath-Perkins Post #51. Ray was an avid bowler, golfer and hunter as time and circumstances allowed. Ray is survived by his loving wife Deanna Bever of Pine City; children Greg Bever of Anoka, Rick Bever (Donna Ascher) of Spring Lake Park, Kimberlee Bever (Glenn Senske) of Pine City; grandchildren Kyle Bever, Scott Bever, Jeff Bever, Braden Bever, Alexa Senske, Autumn Senske; siblings Robert Bever of Cambridge, Marilyn Warner of Medford; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Lucille Bever; brother Ralph Bever. Reverend Dr. Vicki VanderVegt will officiate funeral services for Ray: 11 AM; Wednesday (3/13) at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. A time of visitation/reviewal for friends and family will be held 5-8 PM Tuesday (3/12) and one hour prior to the service all at the chapel.
