Dick Hasbrook of Pine River passed away June 23, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth at the age of 68.
Richard Lawrence Hasbrook was born March 21, 1955 to Ora and Anna (Jorgensen) Hasbrook in Mora, Minnesota and attended schools in that area. He attended the Vo-Tech in Jackson, Minnesota for AutoCAD Drafting and after graduating worked for the Berkeley company designing fishing rods and lures. In the 90’s Dick started a career designing farm equipment. He did contract work; designing farm equipment while living in Kansas, Iowa and Minnesota. He later moved to Gonvick and Warroad where he worked for the Marvin Window Company; coordinating design efforts between Ripley, Tennessee and the Warroad door products division.
An avid outdoorsman, Dick enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, motorcycling on his Honda and Kawasaki bikes, 4-wheeling and working on ultralight airplanes that he also flew.
Dick is survived by his wife Karla Jo Hasbrook of Pine River; children Yolanda (Ryon) Ykema of St. Peter, Ted Hasbrook of Warroad, Christina (Jeremy) Wallsinger of Spanaway, Washington, Chad Freitag (Deb Scott) of Spencer, Iowa, Anthony (Jessica) Hasbrook of Tacoma, Washington, Vanessa (Ed) Hartnell of Roosevelt, Melissa Freitag (Alan Gennes) of Warroad, Sherina Clark of Warroad; siblings Lois DuChane, Edna Gallus, Clarence Hasbrook, Don Hasbrook, Gary Hasbrook; in-laws Gary Morand, Tarry (Darcy) Seeger, Sharilee (Mark) Lenz, Jean Hasbrook; 32 plus grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and a canine friend Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ora & Anna Hasbrook; brothers Chuck, Walt, Ray; canine friend Tina.
A celebration of Dick’s life will be held Labor Day weekend at his home.
