Rodney Oslin passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Sandstone Health Center in Sandstone at the age of 86.

Rodney Royce Oslin was born March 10, 1934 to Edward and Susie (Mohrenweiser) Oslin on the family farm in Peace Township.  Rodney’s parents introduced Rodney and his siblings to hard work at an early age.  Rodney and his siblings were milking cows before and after school; he kept that strong work ethic throughout his life.

In the 1950’s Rodney enlisted in the United States Army and after serving his country and upon honorable discharge he returned to his family in Mora.  Rodney had met Judith McGuire prior to serving in the Army and they were married on May 19, 1962.  Together they made their first home in the town of Mora.  Rodney and Judith later moved to the family farm in Pomroy Township where they lived until they left this world.

Along with raising beef cattle with Judith; Rodney was employed as a heavy equipment operator with various construction companies in the area.  He later started his own construction business and after retirement farmed full time.

Rodney and Judith raised five sons whom they loved dearly.  Rod loved spending time outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

Rodney is survived by his sons: Shane Oslin, Cory Oslin, Chad (Heather) Oslin, Cody Oslin; grandchildren: Teagen, Gavin, Reese; sister-in-law Loraine Oslin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Susie Oslin; wife Judith Oslin; son Shawn Oslin; brother Dean Oslin; sisters Shirley (Everett) Davis and Dorothy (Wallace) Erickson.
