Roland "Rollie" Ramberg of Harris passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at The Estates at Rush City at the age of 92.
Roland Eugene Ramberg was born November 14, 1928 to Frank and Anna (Wredberg) Ramberg in Harris, Minnesota. He was the fourth of nine children.
Rollie worked on the farm and was then drafted into the Army and served in Korea as a military police officer. After returning home from the service he went back to work on the farm. In 1956, he married Mavis Lundeen and together they had 4 children: Ronald, Lynn, David and Jeffrey.
After working on the farm for many years he started working for Motek Engineering in Cambridge in 1972. He worked there until his retirement in 1993. During his retirement years he continued to farm, garden, hunt and fish. He also enjoyed spending time with family. Every year on the 4th of July, he would host the annual picnic at his home. He looked forward to seeing all of his brothers and sisters, their spouses, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. The picnic has been a tradition for more than 30 years.
Rollie is survived by his wife Mavis Ramberg of Harris; children Ronald (Lisa) Ramberg of Hinckley, Lynn (Elden) Johnson of Rush City, David (Karla) Ramberg of Stanchfield, Jeffrey Ramberg of Harris; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Cliff Ramberg, Dean (Marlys) Ramberg, Darrell (Janet) Ramberg; sister-in-law Bonnie Ramberg; brother-in-law Curt Britz.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anna Ramberg; siblings Elven (Norma) Ramberg, Carl (Pat) Ramberg, Dorothy Britz, Gloria (Walter) Hanson, Willard Ramberg; sister-in-law Marcia Ramberg.
Pastor Conrad Warner will officiate at funeral services for Rollie: 11 AM; Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the First Lutheran Church in Harris. A gathering of family and friends is planned for one hour prior to the service at the church.
