Grasston

Ronald "Ron" Hartse of Grasston, formerly of Columbia Heights, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at his home at the age of 77.

Ronald Lee Hartse was born on February 16, 1947 to Axel and Florence (Ellingsen) Hartse in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Ron Hartse was a kind and gentle man known for his quiet nature and subtle humor. He was married to Sandy for 40 years until her passing eight years ago. Together, they had three daughters: Ginger, Michelle, and Lori, and six grandchildren. Ron and Sandy shared a love for antiquing which sparked his passion for collecting antique brass blow torches.

Ron had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing, and spending time outside. He also took pride in his gun collection and spent six years as a sharpshooter in the Army Reserves. A true jack of all trades, Ron could fix anything and had a special fondness for cars. He enjoyed attending car shows and working on vehicles at Hartse Motors with his brother Marv. Ron loved spending time in his garage, sipping on a cold Pabst beer, and talking about cars.

Ron’s appreciation for life's finer details and his genuine kindness made a lasting impact on his friends, neighbors, and family. His quiet strength and love for old things will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

Ron is survived by his daughters Ginger (Aaron) Lobliner of Melissa, Texas, Michelle (Jason) Klein of Oxford, Michigan, Lori (Chad) Frerichs of Forest Lake; grandchildren Jayden Lobliner, Ciara Lobliner, Sydney Klein, Kennedy Klein, Cody Frerichs, Trenton Frerichs; brother Marvin Hartse of Pine City; two nieces; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Axel and Florence Hartse; wife Sandy Hartse; sister-in-law Bonnie Hartse.

There will be a gathering of family and friends 4:00-7:00 PM; Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Pine City American Legion Post #51, 525 Main St N, Pine City, MN 55063.
