Sharon Edna Johnston

Sharon Johnston of Rush City passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at her home at the age of 79.

Sharon Edna Kranz was born on February 2, 1942 in the Rush City area to Henry and Adeline (Marengo) Kranz. She was one of ten children born to Henry and Adeline. The family lived in the Stark area for several years. In 1959, Sharon married Fredrick Johnston, together they lived in the North Branch area where they built their first home. They later moved to the Rush Point area and then to Rush City. Fred and Sharon had 5 children: Mark, Sheila, Todd, Clinton, and Cory. Sharon was a kind person and loved her family very much. She will be greatly missed.

Sharon is survived by her husband Fred Johnston of Rush City; children Mark (Liz) Johnston of Rush Point, Sheila Marik of New Richmond, WI., Todd Johnston of Rush City, Clinton Johnston of Minneapolis, Cory (Beth) Johnston of Sioux City, IA.; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; siblings Lois Bliss of Mora, Jimmy (Joyce) Kranz of Isanti, Audrey Johnson of Cambridge, Dwight Kranz of Rock Creek; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Adeline Kranz; siblings Violet Kranz, Ronald (Shirley) Kranz, Henry "Wimpy" Kranz, Jeanine Perrin, Pearl (Roy) Larson.

Funeral services for Sharon: 11 AM; Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel. The interment will take place in Fish Lake Lutheran Cemetery.
