Shirley Ann Anderson

Shirley Anderson of Pine City passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the age of 76.

Shirley Ann Anderson was born November 5, 1942 to Henry and Alice (Larson) Bobzin in Rush City, Minnesota.

Shirley grew up in Rush City and attended the Rush City Schools. While in school Shirley worked at the Rush City Bakery and babysat. In 1961, she graduated from Rush City High School. In September of 1962, she married Raymond G. Anderson where they resided in Circle Pines. In 1963, they had their first child Wendy and 3 more children followed. In September of 1974, they moved from Circle Pines to Rush City on a farm where they raised chickens, calves, goats, rabbits, cats and dogs.

Shirley worked as a Home Health Aide and received her degree from Pine Technical College where she later graduated. She also delivered Meals on Wheels for 5 years. She was a baker at Rush City Foods and then she worked as a cashier until she retired at the age of 72.

Shirley resided at the Westchester Apartments in Pine City where she made many new friends and spent time going out to lunch and supper with her group of ladies.

Shirley loved to make bread, play Bingo and go to the casino. She enjoyed canning and gardening; making jam and apple butter. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, going out for coffee with her sister-in-law, sewing clothes for herself and her children and babysitting the neighborhood children while their parents worked. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

She will be missed by all who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her children Wendy Fehrman, Cora (Darwin) Weidendorf all of Rush City and Aaron Anderson of Wisconsin; grandchildren Joseph Fehrman, Sherri Fehrman (Trevor Massey), Alan Weidendorf and Angie Weidendorf; great-grandchildren Cameron Massey and Hazel Massey; nephews Ramsey Bobzin and Erik Bobzin.

She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Alice Bobzin; ex-husband Raymond Anderson; son Gordy Anderson; brother Jerry Bobzin.

Pastor Nathan Baker-Trinity will officiate at funeral services for Shirely: 2 PM; Saturday, April 6, 2019. A time for family and friends to gather is planned for one hour prior to the service all at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. A luncheon will be served at the Jasper Masonic Lodge following the service by the First Lutheran Church of Rush City W/ELCA.
