Stella Teresa Real-Werner passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Fairview Hospital in Wyoming, Minnesota, at the age of 69.
Stella was born January 5, 1955, to Frank and Teresa (Herrera) Real in San Jose, California. She lived a beautifully full life. In her early years, she made friends with everyone in school, sang in the choir, rode motorcycles through the hills of California, partied and danced with friends, and enjoyed many family trips.
She married her husband, Steve, on February 18, 1984, and spent the next 40 years of her life loving him unconditionally. In 1988, Stella, Steve, and Jennifer moved to Minnesota where they quickly set down roots and made many dear friends. Even though moving to a small town after living in the big cities of California was a great adjustment for Stella, she threw herself into activities and loved being a part of her little community. Stella kept herself busy with Girl Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Lions Club, Blanden Foundation, the Snake River Fur Post, NAVC, Heritage Players, Ruff Start Rescue, being an election judge, working at the local food shelf, babysitting, and any other volunteer opportunities where she could contribute her many talents and pursue her passion for helping others.
Stella reveled in all things Disney and cherished the Disney World trips she took with her family. She was an exceptional cook, an avid historical re-enactor, an animal lover, and the best daycare that her grandchildren could have ever had the privilege of experiencing.
Stella had a larger-than-life personality, and she loved her family and friends fiercely. She was a strong, genuine, and beautiful woman who gave so much of herself to others. Stella has touched so many lives and she will always be remembered for her honesty and compassion. The world is a better place because she was in it.
“If ever there is a tomorrow where we’re not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart….I’ll always be with you.” - A. A. Milne
Stella is survived by her husband, Steven Werner of Pine City; daughter Jennifer (Derek) Johnson of Mora; stepchildren Scott (Crystal) MacQuiddy of Sacramento, Thomas (Julia) Werner of San Jose; Christina and Andrea Werner of San Jose; grandchildren Ethan Kelsey, Evelyn “Beasty” Johnson, Jonathan and Daniel MacQuiddy, Thomas, Austin, and Gemma Werner; sister Rachel (Jim) Nelson of San Jose; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
