Susan "Sue" Stroeing Wiley

Susan (Sue) Stroeing Wiley, 66, of Pine City passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 16, 2023 with her loving husband by her side. Sue was born on August 17, 1957 in St. Paul, MN, to John and Bernice (Borgerding) Stroeing. Sue grew up on the east side of St. Paul and met the love of her life, Kevin, in elementary school. While attending Johnson High School, Sue and Kevin began dating and later married on May, 31, 1980. The two started their lives together living on the east side of St. Paul, where they welcomed two daughters, Krista and Lydia. They later moved to Lino Lakes, and eventually moved onto Cross Lake in Pine City to enjoy retirement. 

Sue, more than anything, loved her family. She shared an incredible love with her husband Kevin, spanning most of her lifetime. She adored being a mother to her girls, and eventually a grandmother to her 5 grandkids; Kayleigh, Kira, Maxton, Bernice and Isla. If the grandkids were around, nothing else mattered. Her love for them was immense and she never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. She enjoyed watching them play sports, floating in the lake, doing puzzles and cuddling while reading them bedtime stories. No matter what the activity, time with Grandma "Grammy" was simply the best. 

When Sue wasn't doting on her grandkids, she enjoyed golf, fishing, pontoon rides, playing cards with the girls and listening to live music. 

Friends of Sue would describe her as fun, sassy and always there when you needed her. Sue cared fiercely for those closest to her and was a firm believer in loving hard and enjoying the moments. 

Sue is survived by her husband of 43 years, Kevin Wiley; her two daughters: Krista (Mike) Giesen, Lydia (Mike) Johnson; 5 wonderful grandchildren Kayleigh, Kira and Maxton Giesen and Bernice and Isla Johnson; mother Bernice Stroeing; siblings: Bill (Mary) Stroeing, Mae (Bill) Koughan, Joan (Larry) Dourney, Kenny (Sandra) Stroeing and Greg Stroeing; along with many nieces, nephews and their families. 

While Sue has gone too soon for those of us here, we know she will be looking down on us with a smile and will continue to live on in all the lives she has touched along the way. She was an extraordinary presence, and anyone who knew her never felt anything less than truly loved. We will deeply miss her. 

Funeral services for Susan: 11:30 AM; Friday, October 27, 2023 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. A gathering of family and friends is planned one and one half hours prior to the service in the St. Anthony Commons area of church. Following the service, a funeral reception for family and friends is planned from 1-5 PM at the Pine City Country Club.
