Theresa Gospodarek of Pine City passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024 at the Birchwood Assisted Living in Forest Lake, Minnesota at the age of 72.
Theresa Rose Marie Gospodarek was born July 9, 1951 to Paul and Rosemary (Kutz) Gospodarek in Leavenworth, Kansas.
In 1969, after Teri graduated from Pine City High School she attended St. Cloud University. At SCSU she earned a B.S. in Elementary Education with an Art Minor and completed her student teaching at Clinton Elementary in Minneapolis. Her passion for learning and teaching led her to Masters degree work at St. Cloud University, Bemidji State University, and River Falls Wisconsin University and traveling to Rangiora, New Zealand for her internship on her master's program. A highlight of her teaching career was at the International School of Stavanger in Norway as a Kindergarten instructor from 1990-1994. From 1975-1989 she taught kindergarten, second grade, transitional first grade and a Title One instructor at the Pine City Elementary School.
Teri's interests over the years included being a lifelong learner and attended many workshops and spent time spent in many special involvements i.e. Madline Hunter's Elements of Effective Instruction, Math Their Way, Business and Professional Women's Association and the Pine City Arts Council. She enjoyed the theater with friends and took part in the Heritage Players and Chicken Koop Troup puppeteers. Her hobbies included bicycling, natural medicine and traveling. She will be remembered for her kind heart and big smile.
Teri is survived by her sister Barbara (Mark) Hilton of Flippin, Arkansas; brother Paul Gospodarek of Pine City; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul & Rosemary Gospodarek, sister Katherine Gospodarek.
Deacon Gene Biever will officiate at funeral services for Theresa: 11:30 AM; Monday (4/29) with one hour of visitation for friends and family prior to the service at the Swanson Funeral Chapel. Interment will take place at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pine City.
