Thomas Michael Mitzel

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the sudden passing of Tom Mitzel on Friday, December 18, 2020.  

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his mother Deb Taylor (Robert Schember) of Burnsville; father Mike Mitzel (Vicki Workman) of Coffeeville, Mississippi; daughters Geri Rosenow of Brooklyn Park, Brooke Mitzel of Pine City; sons Tom Mitzel, Jordan Mitzel and Dustin Mitzel all of Pine City; grandparents Garry Taylor and Ron (Mary) Mitzel.

Tom is also survived by his extended family; mother of Tom’s daughter Geri, Karie Rosenow of Brooklyn Park; mother of Tom’s children Brooke, Tom, Jordan and Dustin Mitzel, Kim Schultz of Pine City.

Tom was preceded in death by his brother Dan Mitzel; his grandmothers Sally Franz and Sharon Taylor.

Tom had a creative streak. He made beautiful wooden and metal artwork for many people, including memorials for his brother, Dan, who died nearly seven years ago.  

We hope Tom is resting peacefully with his brother now.  

Tom will live in the hearts of those who loved him most.

A celebration of Tom’s life is planned for 3 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City.  A visitation time will be offered two hours prior. 

Later in 2021, a private outdoor family celebration of life will take place.
