Vera Marie Duzan

Vera Duzan of Pine City passed away Monday morning, May 29th in Grand Rapids, Michigan at the age of 88.Vera Marie Blackstad was born to Peter and Nellie Blackstad on January 18, 1929 in St. James, Minnesota. She is survived by her children, John (Marie) Duzan of Georgia; Karen (Steve) Mueller of Michigan; Jeffrey (Sally) Duzan of Bemidji; Steven (Betty) Duzan of South Carolina.  She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and her brother Ed (Cathy) Blackstad of Sleepy Eye.Vera is preceded in death by her husband Walt, parents Peter & Nellie Blackstad, and brothers Charles and James Blackstad.Reverend Fred Hanson and Reverend Dr. Vicki VanderVegt will officiate memorial services for Vera:  3:00 PM Saturday, June 3rd at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City.  A time for family and friends to gather and share memories is planned for two hours prior to the service at the church.  Music will be provided by Doug Berglund, Mark Osterdyk, Scott Jahnz and Glenna Reierson.  Pall Bearers are Vera’s grandsons and great-grandsons:  David Duzan, Peter Duzan, Timothy Duzan, Cristopher Duzan, Max Duzan and Blake Duzan.  Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery in Pine City.Memorials may be given in Vera’s memory to the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Pine City.Funeral arrangements are entrusted to: Funeral and Cremation Service of Pine City, Swanson Chapel.
