Vivian "Vi" Belland of Rush City passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis at the age of 75.
Vivian Lorraine Bitney was born June 16, 1949 to Robert and Audrey (Linden) Bitney in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Vi graduated from Johnson High School in 1967. In 1973, she married Don and moved to Hugo. They then moved to Wyoming and finally Rush City.
In the summers she would go and help her uncle farm. She loved going hunting at their cabin where she shot deer and bear. She also loved cooking and serving and mending clothes for neighbors and family.
Vi is survived by her husband Don Belland of Rush City; sister Bev Anderson of WI; brothers Bruce (Debbie) Bitney of Little Canada, Larry Bitney of Vadnais Heights; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Audrey Bitney; brother Lee Bitney.
Father Matt Shireman will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Vi: 11 AM; Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rush City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned from 4-7 PM Tuesday (1/28) at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City and also one hour prior to the Mass at the church. The interment will take place in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Rush City.
