Wayne King of Rush City passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Welia Health in Mora at the age of 90.
Wayne A. King was born on August 31, 1932 to Cassious and Alma (Mickelson) King in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Wayne met and married the love of his life, Marjorie Ann Springer and they made their home in White Bear Lake. Wayne was a devoted husband and father and a dedicated employee of Maplewood Mall where he worked as Chief Engineer for many years. Upon retiring, he built his home in the woods in Grasston where he loved to watch a fire in his wood stove, the animals right outside his window, and especially the ducks on his pond.
Wayne is survived by his children Margaret “Peggy” Cabrera of Milaca, Steven (Donna) King of Centerville, Rebecca King of Cabool, Missouri, Martin King of Fridley, Lisa King of Kanab, Utah; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister Katie Schostag of Blaine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marjorie.
Father Matt Shireman will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Wayne: 11 AM; Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rush City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for one hour prior to the Mass at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. We will meet at the Olson Chapel and process to church at 11 AM. The interment will take place in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Rush City.
